Biography

Jim DePelisi


James DePelisi possesses a versatile background in Finance, Management, and Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree in Finance from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and for the past 18 years has specialized in the areas of Financial Analysis, Financial Economics, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Financial Advisory, and Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) Disclosure & Reporting.

 

Mr. DePelisi was licensed as a Registered Securities Representative in August of 1993, and has consistently been recognized as a significant asset to every organization in which he has been associated.  He possesses: Series 7 (General Securities Registered Representative); Series 24 (General Securities Principal); Series 63 (State Securities Law); Series 66 (Registered Investment Advisory); and Series 79 (Investment Banking) licenses.  He has persevered in all elements of the Financial industry, including owning his own FINRA (at the time, stated as NASD) licensed securities brokerage firm.  He also served as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a multimillion dollar entertainment and production company.

 

Currently, he is President and founder of LDV Capital Management, a Registered Investment Advisory firm licensed with the state of Florida since 2006.  Within this capacity, Jim founded and spearheaded one of South Florida's most prominent annual conferences:  “The Spring Break for Wall Street Growth & Value Conference”.  From 1999 through 2009, he created, produced and hosted: “The Investor's Business Hour Radio Program”, which for 10 years running, was one of the longest running financial radio shows in South Florida.  Through his guidance, LDV Capital Management has maintained success in advising both private and public companies in   Corporate Structure, Corporate Development, Business Valuation, Capital Formation, Stock Analysis, Debt Restructuring and Balance Sheet Clean-up.

 

Mr. DePelisi is also a principal with ASG Securities, a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Licensed Broker Dealer.  He has a core competency with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Leveraged Buyouts (LBO) and Industry Roll-Up Consolidations.   He possesses proficiency in analyzing, drafting, and quality reviewing Private Placement Memorandums (PPM), as well as Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration Statements and Filings, including forms: S-1, S-3, S-4, Form 10, 8K, 10Q and 10K.

 

Mr. DePelisi is also the President of LDV Consulting, Inc., which facilitates financial statement framework and schedule support for companies preparing for SEC publicly traded audits.  He is also President and Founder of How to Go Public, Inc., DBA EDGAR Processing Services, which is a licensed EDGAR Agent with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), electronically filing SEC documents on behalf of publicly traded companies.    

He is a college adjunct professor, teaching Finance and Technical Analysis courses at Broward College (BC), and formerly at Broward Community (BCC) College and Florida Atlantic University (FAU), respectively. Additionally, he has been quoted and interviewed in several financial media forums such as the South Florida Business Journal, Comcast Newsmakers, the South Florida Business Report and the Investors Business Daily.  

He was formerly on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of South Florida, as well the Benefactors Advancing Covenant House (BACH), in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Mr. DePelisi is a Lector at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise, Florida, and is also a member of the Sunrise Jewish Center.  He has been an active member of both the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs in South Florida.

 

In 2008, he was voted Chairman of the City of Sunrise Chamber of Commerce, a municipality boasting: 100,000 residents; the largest retail outlet mall in the United States in the Sawgrass Mills Mall; the home of the National Hockey League (NHL) Florida Panthers & their arena, the Bank Atlantic Center; and the largest office park in South Florida with the Sawgrass Office Park.  He also held seats on the Economic Development Advisory Board, the Education Advisory Board and ran for public office three times in the City of Sunrise.

 

Effective, January 1st, 2007, Mr. DePelisi has been President of the Broward County Crime Commission.  In 2005, he was appointed to Director of the Crime Commission and sworn in, by then Florida Attorney General, Charlie Crist.  Under his direction, the Crime Commission has successfully implemented a cadre of key programs, including:  Contractor Fraud Prevention (during the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma); Police Department Recruitment; Anti-Terrorism Awareness; Child Predator Awareness; Identity Theft Prevention; and its Broward County Police Chief Think Tank Forums. 

 

Since 2005, Jim DePelisi has been an active member in the Broward County Chiefs of Police Association. As a Veteran of the United States Air Force, Jim received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Sergeant in 1989.
 
In 2003, he also held a seat on the Board of Directors of 21st Century Holdings, a $60 million property and casualty insurance underwriting company, publicly traded on the stock market (NASDAQ: TCHC). In his capacity as a board member, he was the Chairperson for the Company’s Independent Auditing Committee and structured one of the first ever Sarbanes Oxley compliance program's in the state of Florida, implementing internal controls and financial risk management protocols.
